Elon Musk and his D.O.G.E. team have been doing great work, though the messaging of that work has been sloppy at best. It's presented in a way where edgelords can share posts on X and say "BASED" in all caps and leaves way too much room for the left and the media (but I repeat myself) to be handed ammo. To Americans in the middle, the work can look reckless and cruel. One of the problems of cutting the size of government is "we need to cut the size of government... but not like that."

If this past weekend's town hall in Wisconsin is any indication, it looks like Cousin Elon has landed on a way to explain D.O.G.E.'s work in a way that the average American worker can understand and say, "Dude, that's messed up."

Let's talk Social Security and non-citizens.

To recap:

1. Non-citizens illegally enter our country
2. Layers of bureaucracy happen (of which you should feel free to assign ulterior motives to)
3. There is a MASSIVE JUMP in 2024
4. That MASSIVE JUMP of non-citizens are given social security numbers without so much of an interview.

What's key here is how the information is presented. It was someone who WASN'T Musk because, let's be honest, as much as we love Cousin Elon he is not the best messenger. So he let Antonio Gracias do it.

Gracias started by praising the people IN THE GOVERNMENT who helped his team get the information that was requested, illustrating that there are plenty of dedicated public officials who want to see things change.

He drew a clean comparison between LEGAL and ILLEGAL immigrants. His family immigrated here legally. People who did the same tend to have a more significant issue with those who do it illegally than native born citizens do.

The data was presented in an easily digestible way, and the path of how we got here was made crystal clear. Unless you are a hardcore leftist or work for an NGO funded by the progressive billionaires organizing against Cousin Elon, you can see why this is a) wrong, b) a major problem, and c) needs to be fixed.

Hopefully, this marks a change towards more thoughtful messaging. Bret Baier's segment with the entire D.O.G.E. team was a long-overdue start.

Now we need Congress to, oh, I don't know, actually do their jobs and do something about all this new information that is being presented. Any time they want to get started would be great.
