We went a while without a star-studded Trump-bashing leftist whinefest. Three weeks to be exact (see MTV VMAs Features New Social Justice Song: ‘F*** Donald Trump’). But, our pals over in Hollywood broke the slump last night. Stephen Colbert hosted the Emmys, and things went exactly as you'd expect. The show shattered the record for longest anti-conservative diatribe in televised history. But that wasn't the only milestone. This year's Emmys also boasted one of the lowest viewer turnouts in the show's history.

The Emmys are becoming a tougher sell for viewers. For another year, initial ratings for the TV awards are down — this time slipping to an all-time low.

Adjustments could put the total audience ahead of the previous year's low, but the 8.2 overnight rating among metered market households is down another 2 percent from the previous year. That means that the final tally for the 2017 Emmys, hosted by Stephen Colbert on CBS, is on track to slip below the 11.3 million viewers (and a mere 2.8 rating among adults 18-49) that tuned in during 2016.

Now, wait just a minute. You mean to tell me a four hour broadcast of rich liberal elitists chanting "Trump is Satan" was anything other than a grand slam?

Sarcasm aside, a lack of interest in watching self-important snobs pat each other on the back isn't surprising. Hollywood elites and the media overestimate how much we care about the rich and famous. Surprise! Most of us don't give a rat's keister. But, we're apt to care even less when leftists drag politics into every nook and cranny of their projects.

You would think these leftists would have tired themselves out by now. It's been nearly a solid year of butthurt since Trump slew the pant-suited she-devil. I think we're all well aware Hollywood is not fond of the Donald. No need to keep repeating yourselves.

These dunces don't seem to have a clue they're in the middle of one of Hollywood's worst years ever. Thanks in no small part to their inability to leave politics at the wayside and just entertain us. Tinseltown is practically a wing of the Democratic Party at this point. There are a few likable peeps in the industry. Looking at you, Chris Pratt. But, everyone else comes across as an entitled douchemeister. Face it, Hollywood. We're just not that into you at the moment.
