The modern news cycle runs 24/7, pummeling people with so much information it’s difficult to parse out fact from fiction. We’ve seen this when it comes to stories coming out of Ukraine. Something worth noting is that our friend here—who, for obvious reasons, will remain anonymous until he’s safe from the black baggers employed by the CCP—has experienced totalitarian lockdowns in both Australia and China. So, he’s pretty much become a subject matter expert in this area. If he had vacationed in New Zealand or Canada, he’d have scored a hat trick.

Now, it doesn’t seem as if our Shanghai correspondent has mulled over the idea of eating his neighbors, but there’s nothing about his situation that sounds enjoyable, especially as he explains he has children there, too.

The process by which he has to go about obtaining food to feed himself and his family is ridiculous. It’s far worse than anything Americans have had to deal with, but it’s nothing so outlandish that it couldn’t happen here, too. Fauci would certainly love nothing more than to lock people away in their homes with his cable news appearances playing on a loop in every living room.

We can count our blessings, but don’t get complacent. Our freedom is always at risk of being taken by our government if we allow it.
