Three-year-old Nylo Lattimore and his mother Nyteisha Lattimore were stabbed to death by Desean Brown. A judge had ruled that video of Brown confessing to the murders would be admissible as evidence in the trial. Tonio Hughes, Nylo's father, had never met DeSean before and wanted to introduce himself while he had the chance. After the fifth or sixth punch, security felt he had enough of a chance.

Give Tonio some props for respecting the court proceedings. A wider angle sees him waiting for his opportunity. In his defense, he did not want to interrupt the justice process. Also in his defense, the suspect (allegedly) murdered his son and his son's mother. So f*ck that guy.

There are some in this country who may feel what I'm about to advocate here goes against the Constitutional protections of cruel and unusual punishment. But I have always been of the belief that if you murder someone's child, the father should get five minutes alone in a room with you. The only agreement is that the dad can't kill the guy. After all, killing is illegal. A prison sentence with a sign around your neck that says "I murdered a three-year-old and his mother" is justice.

Tonio, an early contender for father of the year, is, unfortunately, being cited for "contempt of court" and is being held in something called a justice center for seven days to think about what he's done. If it were me, I would be thinking about how I could have landed an elbow or two before police pulled me away.
