Operation Warp Speed, President Trump's successful push to get a COVID vaccine, was supposed to get us back to normal. That was how it was sold to the American people. Yet now that we have a vaccine and people are rushing out to get vaccinated, it feels like the goalposts are moving again. Anthony Fauci was asked recently by a reporter about that. How there's "a lot of conversation about how you need to keep doing the same things even after you get vaccinated." Here's Tony's response.

So there are things, even if you're vaccinated, that you're not going to be able to do in society: for example, indoor dining, theaters, places where people congregate. That's because of the safety of society. You, yourself, what you can do when you are together with another person, we are looking at that, and we're going to try and find out very quickly what recommendations could be made about what people can do.

Why are we still listening to this guy?

I get that he's more sciencey than me. He contradicted Donald Trump a lot, so that made him infallible in the eyes of many on the left and in the media (but I repeat myself). But I'm curious at what point do we weigh data and information that ISN'T from Fauci. We have comparisons between lockdown states and free states. We see how our small businesses are struggling. We know the tragic effect the lockdowns have had on young people. There has to be someone we can talk to other than Fauci all the time. Like the John Hopkins researcher who says we could have herd immunity in April. He seems smart.

Every time Anthony Fauci is on TV (which is all the time), the goalposts move a little bit further. If experts want to look at why not everyone is taking things as seriously as the experts would like, that might be a clue. Also, Fauci's consant flip-flops.
