Thus it's no surprise he's ready to peace out. Apparently he's gearing up for a nice jaunt to Europe for some sex rehab. You know, settle down and enjoy the peace and quiet. And not being prosecuted for any crimes. Typical.

Well, the FBI caught wind of these plans and they're not about to sit back twiddling their thumbs.

The FBI has opened an investigation into Harvey Weinstein. DailyMail.com understands the move came at the behest of the Department of Justice, run by Donald Trump's Attorney General Jeff Sessions, which instructed the bureau to investigate the mounting allegations leveled at the movie mogul.

The move by the DOJ came amid rumors that Weinstein plans to head to Europe for sex rehab - leading to fears of a Roman Polanski-style situation where he dodges prosecution in the U.S.

The FBI can both look at whether he has committed any federal crimes in the U.S. and prepare extradition proceedings if he remains in Europe.

Harvey may have been trying to silently disappear amid this crisis. As do most cowardly dung heaps when the going gets tough.

But it looks like he won't be getting his way on this one. The FBI is acting and darn fast. This ain't your mama Obama's Department of Justice, after all (see What?
