Breaking: Law Enforcement On Lookout For Man Thinking About Harming Trump Supporters (Mug Club Exclusive)
Today's show broke the news that the FBI, Memphis Field Office, notified the Tennessee Office of Homeland Security of a Guardian Incident Report indicating that a man named Benjamin Matthew Dayton allegedly sent “concerning statements to his mother via text message” and admitted that he had been thinking about harming Trump supporters.
According to the Officer Saftey Awareness Bulletin:
One of the messages stated "Have been thinking an awful lot about rigging my van and bombing Trump supporters." An initial investigation revealed that DAYTON has experienced suicidal and homicidal ideations and also mentioned trying to obtain a firearm.
Initial investigation has also revealed that DAYTON has an active Order of Protection issued in Waukegan, Illinois. DAYTON's criminal history indicated previous arrests for public drunkenness and domestic battery incidents. According to the subject's parents, he suffers from unspecified mental health diagnoses. DAYTON has several addresses associated with him in the Memphis/Shelby County area. At this time, the subject is believed to be transient and has no known address
Officers have not notified the public about this bulletin that came in on Feb. 29.
Law Enforcement is currently on the lookout for a “tan in color 1995 G20 passenger van” with Illinois plates.
"Nobody was notified about it other than law enforcement just to keep an eye out and exercise caution," Gerald A said. "They saw enough of a threat that they notified officers."
Law enforcement personnel should exercise caution if contact is made with DAYTON and/or his vehicle. No detention of the above subject or vehicle should be made solely based on this bulletin, This information is provided to increase situational awareness and advise law enforcement agencies of the potential officer safety concerns related to the subject of this bulletin.
Louder with Crowder spoke to Special Agent Andrew Cannito who confirmed he was aware of the bulletin but would not speak further on the issue.
"Hopefully nothing happens. This person is talking about [how he is] fantasizing about blowing up Trump supporters. We just had Super Tuesday where it's one of the rare days where all of them are going to be," Crowder said. "Hopefully, this person gets the help that he obviously needs but the police should have done a good job of notifying people and also tracking this person."
