Our competent FBI..raided a pilot's hotel room and detained him for nearly an hour before realizing they made a mistake
Don't you just love the FBI? It's wonderful we can rely on highly-trained, extremely competent agents to serve and protect us. By detaining innocent civilians during simulations. Amazing work.
This past Tuesday, federal agents were participating in a training exercise at a Boston hotel. The exercise was designed to simulate situations that Department of Defense personnel might encounter during a deployment. The agents reportedly busted into a room on the 15th floor of the Revere Hotel and detained the hotel guest. Who was not the simulation player.
The FBI said in a statement, "Based on inaccurate information, they were mistakenly sent to the wrong room and detained an individual, not the intended role player." Woopsies!

The innocent detainee was a Delta Airlines pilot. The poor guy was catching up on his zzz's when the FBI unceremoniously burst into his room. The agents then handcuffed him and placed him in the shower before interrogating him for 45 minutes. Yes, it took them nearly an hour before they figured out they had the wrong dude.
But, according to the FBI, "thankfully, nobody was injured." The pilot may just be psychologically damaged for life. But that's fine.
The Boston Police were then called to the hotel, and they confirmed it was a training exercise gone awry. But don't worry, folks. Though this may sound terrifying, the FBI reiterated that "safety" is ALWAYS their main priority: "Safety is always a priority of the FBI, and our law enforcement partners, and we take these incidents very seriously. The Boston Division is reviewing the incident with DOD for further action as deemed appropriate."
Thank heavens we have such a competent federal agency at our disposal to protect us from criminals. Like innocent airline pilots sleeping in their beds. What would we do without them.
