Jesus said, “The world….hates me because I testify against it that its actions are evil.” This is why it is quite clear that a lot of the time, when someone's action is based on their hate for Christianity, it usually is a good sign they are not the good guys. And in this story, the Feds are obviously not the good guys.

Federal law enforcement agencies worked with some banks to flag purchases if you bought religious texts, like Bibles because they thought it would help in "preventing extremism."

According to Townhall:

“According to the House Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, which falls under the jurisdiction of the House Judiciary Committee, federal law enforcement agencies partnered with a number of financial institutions to flag transactions with the terms ‘MAGA,’ ‘Trump’ and more. They also monitored transactions at stores like Cabela's and Bass Pro Shop. Other purchases linked to religious texts, like Christian bibles, were flagged under the guise of ‘preventing extremism.’”

Obviously, there is no evidence that tracking bible purchases has or will do ANYTHING to stop “extremism.” But I would love to see the Feds attempt to explain that one.

If our legal system upheld the law and did not excuse themselves from it, I highly doubt this would be what you call “legal”.

But because the FBI believes it can do as it pleases to prevent “extremism,” which is a very subjective word that is up for interpretation, they are tracking your grandma who just wanted a shiny new Bible.

No, it does not appear they had anything better to do. It does not appear that going after rapists and murderers would be a better use of their time, at least according to their actions. And no, it does not appear as if they are going to even pretend to care.

Governments raging in authoritarian actions against Christians and Christianity is a tale as old as time. This is why no one should be shocked by this. But the reason why this case is a little bit different is because this country was founded on the idea that the government or its employees may not do crap like this. But again, authoritarians don’t tend to let things like “constitutional rights” get in the way of them stomping over people's civil liberties.

Governments are almost always built up to reject freedom and liberty. America is the exception to this rule. It is the only country that was built on the idea that all men are born with human rights, rather than the government giving you rights. That is why we are considered the leaders of the Free World. And this is why it is extra infuriating that the FBI has decided that the perfect use of its time is to spy on American citizens who are purchasing a Bible.

I am not going to name any specific religion, but there are definitely religious texts that condone and demand “extremism” and Christianity is not one of them.

I am not certain whether or not these federal agents have read the Bible, but I doubt they would like the ending very much.
