Feminist Professors to College Students: Stop Citing White Males Because Racism
If you are a male with any brains or success, feminists loathe you and are probably currently planing your demise. Maybe get your brakes checked. Keep your eyes peeled for any she-cows eager to bash in your head with the depravity of your white privilege (see Connecticut College Professor Calls for Death of White People and RACIST? Idiot Mark Ruffalo Threatens MSNBC to Stop Hiring ‘White Conservatives…’). Also, if you're a man of milky complexion looking to become a professor, you would do well to change your name to Jamar, Jill, or Jaamil.
These feminist academics want people to stop citing pasty virile research. Because racism.
Rutgers University professor Carrie Mott and University of Waterloo professor Daniel Cockayne advance the claim in an article published last month in the Feminist Journal of Geography, but also suggest that citation can serve as “a feminist and anti-racist technology of resistance” if references are chosen with the explicit intent of promoting “those authors and voices we want to carry forward.”“To cite only white men…or to only cite established scholars…does a disservice to researchers and writers who are othered by white heteromasculinism,” they argue, defining “white heteromasculinism” as “an intersectional system of oppression describing on-going processes that bolster the status of those who are white, male, able-bodied, economically privileged, heterosexual, and cisgendered.”
According to the most recent research by the American Association of Geographers, however, women only account for 37 percent of geography professors, and only publish 33 percent of research articles related to geography.
Specifically, they urge their fellow scholars to “think through how many women, people of color, early career scholars, graduate students, and non-academics are cited,” saying this will call attention to “the power dynamics that are unintentionally reproduced therein.”
In short? Looking for quality in research is outdated. Old as Bernie's dentures. According to these gals, citation's suitability will now be analyzed by skin color, gender, and lack of previous citations. So, if you're a trans black woman who writes such crappy research that no one's ever cited you, you're on top of that list. #SocialJustice
These bouts of leftist crazy have been becoming more and more predictable. It's a simple formula: silence the detractors and continue to perpetuate one's own silly narrative. Conform or you shall be re-educated!
