Florida Shooting Victim's Dad Responds to Those Against Arming Teachers
Andrew Pollack didn't start 2018 thinking he'd be on the news about arming teachers. He probably didn't think people would laugh at his daughter's murder because he's a Donald Trump supporter. But he's become one of the few adults the media talks to (see [Video] Father of Parkland Victim Calls for School Safety NOW and School Shooting Victim’s Father Calls Out Media for Politicizing Florida).
Mr. Pollack supports having teachers armed and ready to protect students. If you don't he has a solution.
Andrew Pollack, Father of Florida Shooting Victim Meadow Pollack, says he has the answer for those against arming teachers: "This is America and it's freedom of choice... you don't want someone with a gun at your school, you go to a gun-free school zone." https://t.co/XflnuHfeDd

"This is America and it's freedom of choice. You have the choice to go to any school you want. If you don't want a teacher, or a marshall, you don't want someone with a gun at your school, you go to a gun-free school zone."You take your kid, you take them to a school that has gun-free zone, and you take them there. And the parent that wants to go to a school where there's a marshall, there's a police presence, they send their kid there."
The one flaw is that you can't really choose what school to send your kid to. The government and teachers unions decide that. But we'll discuss school choice at another time.
But there is a compromise here. One of the few things a friend posted on Facebook that didn't make me stabby. What if the teacher wanted to get a concealed carry permit? My biggest issue with the issue of "arming teachers" are the teachers who don't want to be armed. But if the teacher is willing and is going to get trained, let them do so. The NRA and any number of sportsman clubs would be more than happy to volunteer to make this happen.
Choices. They're good things, no?
