Black historian, white pundit both blast Kamala Harris's lies about Florida teaching slavery was a good thing
"Slavery is good" is the Democrat Party's new "Don't Say Gay." Ron DeSantis has perfected exposing progressive indoctrination attempts in schools so much so he's exporting it to other states. All the left has are lies and Kamala Harris. That, and the hope one of DeSantis's GOP primary opponents can be manipulated into amplifying anything bad he reads on the internet.
SPOILER: No, just like how it is not illegal to say "gay" in Florida, the state also isn't teaching middle school students that "achkshually, maybe slavery wasn't so bad to begin with." But leftists on Twitter started to say it was true and part of Florida's new school curriculum, so the White House thought now was the time to activate Kamala Harris and send her to Jacksonville.
"Just yesterday in the state of Florida, they decided middle school students will be taught that enslaved people benefited from slavery. They insult us in an attempt to gaslight us, and we will not stand for it."
M'kay. Here is what the standards really say, in ONE of the almost two-hundred items that are a part of the curriculum.
“Instruction includes how slaves developed skills which, in some instances, could be applied for their personal benefit."
That is NOT teaching people that slaves benefited from slavery. Only the cracker-ass cracker progressives who decide what the Left's talking points are that week would twist it to claim this says slaves should be happy they learned a trade.
Granted, this isn't my story to tell. But I've always been under the impression that thriving in the face of adversity is something that "black America" was built on. Slaves had to learn to cook every part of the pig they were given as a "Christmas bonus." Hundreds of years later, it's been perfected into an art form that wins James Beard awards.
Maybe I'm wrong. Let's see what African American history scholar, and someone who worked on Florida's curriculum, Dr. William B. Allen has to say about Kamala Harris spreading misinformation.
"[The vice-president's comments] are categorically false. It never said slavery was beneficial to Africans. What was said, and anyone who reads this will see with clarity, it is the case that Africans proved resourceful, resilient, and adaptive and were able to develop skills and aptitudes which served to their benefit both while enslaved and after enslavement."
Journalisming outlets still have content to create, and they have their memo to create "this was Kamala Harris's finest moment" content. CNN contributor Scott Jennings missed that memo.
What is amazing to me is that how little Kamala Harris apparently has to do that she can read something on Twitter one day and be on the airplane the next to make something literally out of nothing. ... Everybody involved in this says this is completely a fabricated issue and yet look at how quickly Kamala Harris jumped on it. So, the fact that this is her best moment, a fabricated matter, is pretty ridiculous.
A lie travels faster than the truth. Biden 2024 should put it on a bumper sticker. Leftists know with any lie they tell they can count on the media to swear by it.
