Yes, in the city with the strictest gun control in the history of humanity (okay really just the USA), Chicago saw fourteen people shot in fifteen hour period, six of whom tragically died. Looks like the only gun control going on in Chicago is expert trigger pull. But that didn't stop idiot mayor Rahm Emannual from calling for more gun control laws, because the existing laws are as useful as butter is for sunblock (though you'll taste delicious).

“I’m angry about what happened here and I think I speak for everybody,” Emanuel said on Tuesday. “And I think I speak for everybody when I say enough is enough.”

The shootings these past two weeks follow a four-week period in August, when more than 40 people were shot each weekend. At least 2,300 people have been shot in the city this year, which the Tribune said is 400 more than were shot in the same period last year.

Holy mother of peril. Over two thousand people have been shot in Chicago this year, and we're not even Christmas shopping yet, you guys. Well, probably not. But if you're a Chicago resident who's wondering what to get for Christmas, how about a bullet-proof apron for your mom? Or a Kevlar parka for those cold winter months of snow and gunfire? If apparel isn't really your thing, what about a giant shield ala Captain America? Tote that baby around when you fancy yourself a little stroll. Also, consider strolling out of Chicago.

Yeah, enough is enough, Rahm. How about giving guns to law-abiding citizens? No, of course not. That would actually help curb gun crime, as we've reported since computers took up entire rooms (hyperbole). The goal isn't to curb crime, the goal is to take guns away and create even more victims of violence, which then requires the heroic and ever expanding government to step in and "save" the day.

The fact is that Chicago has historically had the strictest gun laws in the country, with some of the highest violent crime in the history of the country. As a matter of fact, once Chicago issued concealed Carry permits, they had their lowest murder rate since 1958. Now we're not necessarily saying that correlation = causation. One thing is for certain though, the handgun ban certainly didn't curb gun violence. Here's a chart.

Dear gun-grabbers, you're all morons and this continued cry for more gun control whenever there's a shooting in an area where guns are already controlled, is getting annoying. Like getting butter all over everything annoying. No, you really shouldn't use it for sunblock. And yes, it still is delicious.
