A group of women dressed like chesticles descended upon Facebook's London HQ to protest the algorithm. We here at LwC have trouble with the algorithm too, yet never thought to dress up like a fun bag over it. Activists in London decided that in order to "Free the Nipple," they needed to dress up like bazoombas. Their complaint is that Facebook's algorithm will show photos of male nipples, yet block photos if the nipple belongs to a female. People who allegedly think it's important for everyone on Facebook to see their knockers say that's unfair. Hence, the costume party.

Oh, and there's a giant musical number. Because why wouldn't there be one?

Here's the thing, and a reason why I got all my titty euphemisms out early. This protest is presented by a media outlet sympathetic to the cause as a "Free the Nipple" rally. Because "Free the Nipple" is a feminist rallying cry. Left out from this video is any information that this protest is about breast cancer. Run by a *checks notes* areola tattooing group called World Medical Artist.

Apparently, women who have had mastectomies are having their photos removed while shirtless men don't. Some women who have mastectomies will get areola tattoos. A spokesman from Facebook says the problem is that the tattoos are sometimes too good.

By design, these tattoos often look extremely realistic, which means our technology – and even our content reviewers – don't always spot the difference, so we do encourage people to make it clear when they're posting an image that's a tattoo.

This just proves what we all assumed. The content reviewers are all imbeciles and nincompoops.

It's a more serious story than the news outlet supporting the protest is making it out to be. The news outlet that released the video makes it look like another group of crazy left-wing slacktivists dancing and singing while dressed as boobies.

But my advice to the organization? Maybe next time just pick up the phone. That may be more effective.
