Garth Brooks Exudes Pure Class When Explaining His Inauguration Plans...
We get that most celebrities don't like Donald Trumpnow that he's a Republican and didn't vote for him. The rub most of us have is less the disagreement as much as them acting like unhinged douchelords. There are notable exceptions (see Katie Couric Pressures Betty White to Bash Trump and Liberals Turn on Zoe Saldana for Being Reasonable On Trump) though not many. One of the exceptions was Garth Brooks, who turned down the Inauguration because he had tour commitments. Then he said something you wouldn't expect from a celebrity.
It comes in around 4:30, but he sings us a song before that so I'd just start at the beginning...
“I’ll tell you what with this whole presidential thing, we’ve got one going out and I pray for him and his family. And for the president going in, I pray for him and his family to guide this nation. Let’s stay together – love, unity, that’s what it’s all about. In the immortal words of Martin Luther King, the most durable power that we’ve known is love. It will always be that way. . . So again, I can’t thank the Obamas enough for serving this country, and may God hold Trump’s hand in the decisions he makes in the country’s name as well.”
I mean really, it takes almost nothing to show a little class and humility. Well... maybe that's not true if you look at how far off the sanity rails the left has driven their hate train. They're less than thrilled with Trump. Guess what? Many of us on the right aren't thrilled with him either. But he's our President now. Bitching, whining, destroying property? It won't change reality. Go read this nifty little open letter we wrote: Dear Leftists: Accept it. Trump is Your President Now.
Other celebrities should follow Garth Brooks lead. That is if they wanted to keep their customer base intact.
Instead, we'll probably get more of this...
