Joe Biden is expected to propose a national gas tax holiday today. Critics say high gas prices are by design, Biden's campaign to declare war on energy. He's happy gas prices are skyrocketing. But they've become so high that his own people are starting to blame him for it. So, he needs a quick fix. When reached for comment (14 years ago) Barack Obama called a gas tax holiday a gimmick.

Funny what you can find on the internet.

Side note. In 2008, Obama was running for president against John McCain who was 71 years old at the time. Biden is 79 years old now. Also, McCain has been dead for over three years. Joe Biden is... president.

Gas prices were $3.72 a gallon when Obama gave this speech. They are $4.96 today when Biden is expected to push for his gas tax holiday, during 2:00 remarks where he expected to address gas prices and, quote, "Putin's price hike." At least Biden has the "not presenting a truthful response thing" on lock.

Joe Biden will be taking a break from blaming billionaires and gas companies for the Biden Incompetence Hike to push a gimmick that is largely believed to--*checks notes*--make those billionaires more money while barely reducing the pain at the pump for the middle class.

Even when it comes to cheap gimmicks to avoid taking responsibility for the problems he causes, Biden still finds a way to f*ck it up. I expect "independent" "fact" checkers to circle the wagons by end of the week. The claim will be that a gas tax holiday is NOT a gimmick, and that conservatives seizing on Obama by quoting him accurately is misleading.
