California To Begin Handing Out Fines To Stores That Don’t Have A ‘Gender Neutral’ Kids Toy Section
Rather than crack down on the retail theft plague wreaking havoc on residents, officials in California have made it very clear they would rather police toy stores about their inventory. That is because California is a very, very serious state.
Some stores are only weeks away from having to implement a gender-neutral section or face a penalty.
In 2021, Governor Gavin Newsom signed Assembly Bill No. 1084 into law. This bill will require some stores to have a gender-neutral section "regardless of whether they have been traditionally marketed for either girls or boys,” according to the Daily Caller.
Department stores that don’t comply will face a $250 fine for the first violation, and $500 for a subsequent violation. The bill is set to go into effect on Jan. 1.
Assemblyman Evan Low, who introduced the bill, said, “Part of it is to make sure if you’re a young girl that you can find a police car, fire truck, a periodic table or a dinosaur. And then similarly, if you’re a boy, if you’re more artistic and want to play with glitter, why not? Why should you feel the stigma of saying, ‘Oh, this should be shamed’ and going to a different location?”
This law mandates that there must at least be a section with a “reasonable selection” of items displayed in a gender-neutral way.
Gender ideology is what “justifies” the belief that children can be born in the wrong body. But this law shows just how inconsistent their justification is.
“Unjustified differences in similar products that are traditionally marketed either for girls or for boys can be more easily identified by the consumer if similar items are displayed closer to one another in one, undivided area of the retail sales floor,” the law reads. “Keeping similar items that are traditionally marketed either for girls or for boys separated makes it more difficult for the consumer to compare the products and incorrectly implies that their use by one gender is inappropriate.”
First, the bill argues that sex stereotypes do not mean anything, which is why gender-neutral sections are necessary. But at the same time, the entire argument behind gender ideology is that stereotypes should mean everything. If a boy likes to dress up in a dress then that MUST mean the child is a girl who was born in the wrong body. At least according to this radical ideology.
So what is it then? Are these stereotypes harmful? Or do they determine what sex someone is?
We should all be so grateful that progressives in the Golden State have found a solution to a problem that is not a problem. But I guess what else are state lawmakers going to do if they don’t virtue signal their lack of logic? Enforce laws and do something about the crackheads on the street? Of course not.
