Two Los Angeles police officers were killed in the line of duty last week by a gang member with a long rap sheet. That gang member was out on the streets instead of in jail due to the policies of Soros-backed Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón. Olga Garcia, mother of fallen officer Joseph Anthony Santana, is speaking out against Gascón's progressive policies that give criminals more rights than cops.

Santana and Cpl. Michael Paredes, the other officer, responded to a call about a stabbing. Justin Flores, the suspect, shot and killed both officers. Flores SHOULD have been in jail under California's three-strikes rule. Flores was busted last year for being a felon in possession of a firearm. It would have been his second strike under the rule. Gascón refuses to prosecute three-strike cases and allowed Flores to plead down.

Garcia holds Gascón responsible for her son's murder. "Gascón will never know how I feel. Gascón will never know how he destroyed our families. He won't know how [Santana's] children feel. [...] Gascon is just letting all these criminals out, and they just keep doing one crime after the other."

This is tragically not the first time Gascón's pro-criminal, weak-on-crime policies have created questionable results. A guy who tried to run over a mother and her baby was sentenced to a juvenile probation camp, even though he had priors and was on drugs. In another story, a child molester was not only given a weak sentence and told he would not have to register as a sex offender. He went on to laugh it off and brag about the sweet deal he was given.

This is only the first time the Soros-backed DA's policies have resulted in the murder of two police officers. A similar incident happened in New York City, where the policies of another Sorors-backed DA, Alvin Bragg, led to two other cops being assassinated. Officer Wilbert Mora and Officer Jason Rivera.

Gascón faces a recall effort. Let's hope Los Angeles' primarily progressive voters have learned the consequences of their actions and don't replace Gascón with another progressive promoting the same policies.
