It's no shocker college campuses are hotbeds for left-wing numbskulls who don't know their anus from a hole in the ground. But, a lot of people don't realize just how bad it really is. This tale ought to clue them in. A student group at Georgetown, a Catholic university, is in danger of being shut down. For having Catholic beliefs. Let that sink in.

Love Saxa is a recognized student group on the Georgetown campus, and it exists “to promote healthy relationships on campus through cultivating a proper understanding of sex, gender, marriage, and family among Georgetown students.”

Otherwise known as common sense. One guy loves one gal. They start a family. Babies get made. Nobody gets AIDS.

On September 6, Georgetown’s student newspaper, The Hoya, published “Confessions of a College Virgin.” It describes Love Saxa’s dedication to “healthy relationships and sexual integrity,” including its stance on premarital sex, sexual complementarity, and same-sex marriage.

All perfectly acceptable views.

The resulting outrage was palpable. In a complaint filed with the university through its internal grievance process, student Jasmin Ouseph issued a blistering critique of Love Saxa’s “violent…dehumanizing…hateful, and…dangerous” “rhetoric.” Ouseph left no doubt of her desired outcome, stating “what I’m asking for is for Love Saxa to no longer be recognized by the University.” The Hoya’s editorial board likewise published a response to Irvine’s “Confessions,” imploring the Student Activities Commission to “defund intolerance.”

On October 30, the commission will hold a hearing to determine Love Saxa’s fate.

So again, to summarize: a student group is in trouble for embracing Catholic doctrine at a Catholic university.

This goes to show just how bad leftism is on campus. These students shared their uncontroversial opinions in the opinion section of the school newspaper. Now, the student group is on the verge of getting the axe. All because oversensitive soy-munching leftists can't cope with alternate viewpoints.

Socialists are free to praise Karl Marx on campuses. His boneheaded ideas killed 100 million people in the past century. Just a detail to leftists. But, if you promote monogamy, marriage, and having babies? That's just too much.

The double standard is real. Leftists are free to promote their worldview, no matter how malevolent or potentially dangerous it might be. But, if your ideas even hint at conservatism? Begone with thee!
