It wasn't long ago that we covered France banning the burkini in its fight against Islamic terrorism. Looks like Germany is considering following suit in a similar move. This time with face veils. And no, not just the Muslim ones you Islamophobe. All the face veils get all the bans. Well if the face veil ban-proposal gets passed, that is...

Germany could become the next European country to ban face veils under a proposal announced on Friday by officials in the ruling coalition. The officials intend to have the face veils banned in public spaces where identification is required -- such as registry offices, schools, kindergartens and government offices -- saying that they did not fit in with Germany's society.

"Full face veils, as mentioned, we reject this. Not just the burka, any full-face veils that only show eyes of a person," said Interior Minister Thomas de Maiziere at a press conference...

Berlin Interior Minister Frank Henkel supported the proposal, adding that the full-face veil "does not fit in with our understanding of a tolerant, free society. It does not fit in with our view of women."

Can we just take a moment to congratulate Germany? This may not seem like that big of a deal. After all, it's simply a proposal at the moment - not law. And we're just talking about banning face blankies. Still, this move indicates that sects of Germany want their culture back (see After Islamic Refugee Influx, Germany Fights... Also, that bit about face veils not fitting in with their view of women? Gold. Feminists, you should be high-fiving Germany for this. On second though maybe not. To avoid bruising. The left will predictably clamber to disavow the face veil ban - and similar policies - as ignorant, anti-Islam, etc. But they're actually pro-women. Burkas suck. Germany wants Muslim ladies to be comfortable and free. Being forced to sulk about in a hot, oppressive potato sack? Neither comfortable nor free. Also, try using the restroom while wrapped in one of those.

We call these small shifts in policy baby steps. Baby steps start off unsure and a bit wobbly. But eventually they lead to more confident strides. Now it's a face veil ban, but the next step might lead to investigating radical mosques. With consistency and patience, Germany may yet return to their sauerkraut and sausagey Germanness (read VOTING UPSET: Germany Says 'Enough!' with Islamic Migrants and Political Correctness). If they succeed, the rest of Europe will see. They may be inspired to also strive to turn over a new, non-multiculturalist leaf. So good on you, Germany. Good luck on regaining your culture.
