When words are used to manipulate the masses rather than define language, you get this story.

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation, otherwise known as “GLAAD” has updated its Media Reference Guide and labeled some words “derogatory” in what appears to be a desperate attempt to obtain cultural control over definitions.

The word homo means “same” so when referring to a homosexual that means someone is attracted to the “same” sex as themselves. That is just a fact, and I guess the truth hurts so much for GLAAD because now they are crying over Greek roots and no one should stop using that word, especially because this organization has tried to make an issue out of a nonissue.

According to The Post Millennial:

The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation has come out against the use of the term "homosexual," suggesting it is "derogatory and offensive."

It is just one of the many terms deemed unacceptable by GLAAD in its revised Media Reference Guide.
The organization declared homosexual to be an "outdated clinical term," arguing that, because of the clinical history of the word ... it is aggressively used by anti-LGBTQ activists to suggest that people attracted to the same sex are somehow diseased or psychologically/emotionally disordered – notions discredited by the American Psychological Association and the American Psychiatric Association in the 1970s."

"Please avoid using 'homosexual' except in direct quotes," GLAAD advised. "Please also avoid using 'homosexual' as a style variation simply to avoid repeated use of the word 'gay.' Many mainstream news outlets' style guides restrict use of the term 'homosexual'."

The organization also claimed that terms such as "homosexual relations/relationship;" "homosexual couple;" "homosexual sex" should be avoided because they are "frequently used by anti-LGBTQ activists to denigrate LGBTQ people, couples, and relationships."

None of that makes sense because the term is nothing more than a factual description of what these people are attracted to. A definition does not automatically mean it is “offensive” because someone you don’t like uses that word. That is not how reality works.

But just like the gender-bender wagon tries to erase the word women, homosexuals must also be erased since “sex” is not a thing anymore, according to the left. And according to their logic, a trans woman is a lesbian but since you cannot call that person a "homosexual" then the word must be destroyed since lack of reasoning cannot hold up to even the least bit of scrutiny.

Trans women and homosexual women cannot both be lesbian. But that is probably why GLAAD wants to destroy the term homosexual and make gay or lesbian the only words used by the public. Because it's easier to dance around the term lesbian or gay than it is to do so with homosexual.

We went from "don't say gay" is bad to "don't say homosexual" is good. But this is what the left does. They take words and use their antonyms to justify their insane ideology. But that is what they have to do since they don't tend to have truth on their side.
