Glamour, 'Gotham' and Phony 'Transgender' Feminism. Here's Why You're Hurting Women...
Here is exhibit Q on how phony modern day "activism" actually is. Glamour magazine recently ran an article, "How Gotham Is Empowering Women by Casting a Female for a Formerly Male Superhero Role."
Just when you thought that superhero shows were totally by the (comic) book, Gotham went ahead and flipped that idea on its head. How so? Instead of casting a male actor to play the role of Firefly (as has always been done), the producers decided to make the character a female. This isn't the first time a role has flipped genders (we're currently seeing it with our November cover star Sandra Bullock in Our Brand Is Crisis), but it sure is impressive in the rare times it happens.
Not quite sure how assigning a male character to an actress is "pro-woman." Especially when the male character is an arsonist/felon. Kind of seems if you do that, you're admitting "we couldn't think of a cool female character to write for an actress, so we took this male character and gave it to a girl." Like throwing the feminists a wishbone over which to cat-fight – if said cat-fight happens to take place in Jello, so much the better – kind of supports the notion that men are better at everything and women just copy them... Feminism. Hurraaaaaay.
Here's where the hypocrisy comes in. The same Glamour who is writing about "empowering women" by giving a male character to a woman and calling it "progress," is naming a MAN as their "Woman of the Year." (Read: Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner Named 'Woman of the Year.' Still has a Penis...) Yes, no matter how much press Caitlyn Jenner gets or how much accusations of "intolerance" his supporters throw at people for questioning it, he still has a penis. That makes him a man. A point other feminists aren't thrilled about, either.
Germaine Greer, the 76-year-old author of “The Female Eunich,” is making waves by lambasting the idea that Caitlyn Jenner may be honored by Glamour Magazine as “Woman of the Year.” Jenner isn’t a woman, says Greer. He’s just attention-starved and seeking to steal the limelight from the women in the Kardashian family. He hasn’t actually had to endure what feminists depict as the true horrors of womanhood, such as being cursed with what Greer delicately characterizes as a “big, hairy, smelly vagina.”
This is activism in the modern age. Equality = anything that helps them gain a few points in the ratings or sell a handful of extra magazines. Also girls need roles that used to be for men. Because copying and unoriginality is the new feminist movement.
