The news is still abuzz with headlines about Elon Musk since his move to purchase Twitter was successful. He hasn’t even walked through the headquarters doors yet, but the media is out to slander him before he can even make changes. And the government has stood up its own bureaucratic office to ensure only the right kind of thoughts get out if Musk goes through with opening the free speech floodgates.

But the government doesn’t even need to do anything. The fact is the private sector is more than happy to perform the censorship on behalf of the leftist authoritarians in the Biden Administration. Just as Twitter would regularly silence speech it didn’t like, the rest of Big Tech may already be gearing up to silence Twitter if the need arises.

Google and Apple aren’t exactly exemplars of morality and fairness. What makes anyone believe their opinions of what constitutes “hate speech” or “disinformation” is anything close to objective? If the past is any indication, it’s far more likely that they are of the same mind as the singing chucklehead leading the Ministry of Truth.

The fate of free speech in this country could hardly be said to be secure as the government and the private sectored begin teaming up to police speech on behalf of the left, the same left who perpetuate such lies as men can become women if they really, really wish like super-duper hard.

The question is not if free speech will be abridged under the watch of the present administration but rather to what extent should we expect free speech to be curtailed?

I get the feeling the left is rather scared of what truths may be allowed to be spoken on a platform allowed to operate without leftist oversight. Perhaps Americans should really start asking themselves why that is.
