An MP race has turned bitter, with one candidate hurling accusations of transphobia, dog-whistling, and gaslighting at HER opponent. I know this takes place in the UK and who cares about the UK, but you're going to want to take the journey on this one.

Melissa Poulton represents the Green Party and recently announced HER candidacy against sitting Member of Parliament and conservative party deputy Rachel Maclean. Maclean finds herself in hot water after dropping X on her beautiful and brave opponent.

In a now-deleted X post, Maclean reposted someone referring to Poulton as "a man who wears a wig and calls himself a 'proud lesbian.'"

Poulton added a comment assuring voters that while the Green Party might not know what a woman is, the people of Worcestershire and Bromsgrove do.

Poulton did not appreciate the attack on HER identity. SHE responded in kind during an interview on the BBC. "Without a shadow of a doubt, it is a transphobic comment. It's dog-whistling at the finest. It's gaslighting. It's everything. By attacking a minority group, it's just -- yeah -- it's just -- it's a shame."

Early reports of MP Maclean apologizing appear to be bollocks.

We here at the Louder with Crowder Dot Com website are admittedly not well-versed in the intricacies of the UK parliament system. However, we do strive every day for tolerance and other gay stuff like inclusion. If this brave and beautiful community campaigner is trying to shatter a glass ceiling by becoming the first proud lesbian trans-MP, we wish HER well in HER future endeavors.

Not everyone agrees. So, for the sake of devil's advocate, see if you notice any differences or similarities between Melissa Poulton and this character from Ricky Gervais's "After Life."
