The United Kingdom likes to hype themselves up as the bee's knees when it comes to ending gun crime. They're certain all you need to stop crooks from popping off is to ban gats entirely. Except unsavory types will always find a way to pack heat. Something those "gun-free" UK peeps are learning the hard way.

Police and border officials are struggling to stop a rising supply of illegal firearms being smuggled into Britain, a senior police chief has warned.

Chief constable Andy Cooke, the national police lead for serious and organised crime, said law enforcement had seen an increased supply of guns over the past year, and feared that it would continue in 2019.

So how are these guns being acquired?

Guns are being bought on the dark web and the UK is also seeing weapons designed for sports shooting being smuggled in, as well as blank firing weapons bought for just £100 being converted in the UK. Criminals have also obtained high end automatic weapons such as an AK47.

Well well well.

Think about how often you hear those smug Brit lefties bragging about their totally non-existent gun crime. All we have to do is put the kibosh on the Second Amendment and go "gun-free." Then, all our violent butt-dumplings will see the light and go straight. Except, as this shows, our cousins across the pond are just as prone to criminal misuse of boomsticks.

The big difference is their civilian peeps have no means of protecting themselves against criminal gun use. At least here in the U-S-of-A we can counter mass-murdering fiends with guns of our own. Many a mass shooter has been put down by a Good Samaritan with a thirst for justice and a Smith & Wesson.

There's a recurring theme at play here. Criminals don't care about the law. Shocking, I know. If crooks had any desire to comply with regulations, they wouldn't be crooks. This is why we're often speaking of the futility of banning all the things.
