The next Balenciaga? Critics accuse Harry Styles of 'giving off pedo vibes' in new Gucci ad
The fashion world is at it again. Fresh off of the Balenciaga controversy, where the company felt that little girls interacting with fetish gear were a great way to sell expensive couture, comes this Harry Styles campaign for Gucci. (shout out to BizPacReview)

It shows Harry Styles, a grown-ass man, wearing a pink teddy bear shirt that says "I want more berries and that summer feeling," and carrying what appears to be a bed for a toddler. Critics were quick to say "eww" and "gross" and "dafuq is wrong with these people?" There was also confusion as to why Harry Styles would need to have a toddler's mattress with him.
It makes you wonder about who the target audience is for an ad campaign like this.
Gucci are having harry styles pose alongside a child’s mattress with a pink teddy bear shirt.
Why are all fashion brand ad makers sick creeps? pic.twitter.com/jQuIjnPRXt

Why does #gucci have Harry Styles, a grown man posing with a child’s mattress and a pink teddy bear t shirt? Im not loving this. pic.twitter.com/1Fc2kIDcjN

Other critics were much less charitable and felt the ad gave off certain illegal vibes. The kind of illegal vibes where someone should be locked away in prison for a very long time.
This screams pedo. Unless he has suddenly become a parent bad choice @gucci

That single white mattress is giving pedo vibes, and I think you should have better judgement after the Balenciaga meltdown

Teddy bear in front of toddler mattress? Doesn’t remind anyone of anything … 😳🫣 Hollywood doesn’t get it https://t.co/A3gXeh99Cb

This comes fresh off of the Balenciaga controversy, where if their ad campaign featuring little girls holding bondage bears wasn't enough, someone made it a point to include a copy of a Supreme Court decision on kiddie porn in the background. To this day, I am unclear about what item the company was attempting to sell.
America was divided by the Balenciaga ad. On one side, you had parents and decent humans disgusted that children would be exploited like that. On the other side was the New York Timesclaiming those rubes don't understand art.
As of this writing, neither Gucci nor Harry Styles have addressed the controversy. Though Fox News reports both Gucci and Balenciaga are owned by the same parent company, Kering Group.
