It's not surprising that a high school would be sent into lockdown over a student not wearing a mask. We've seen it happen before. But we've seen it happen in the socialist paradise of California. Wyoming is supposed to be a red state that is pro-freedom and unlike Joe Biden and the people who control Joe Biden, believes in science. School mask mandates aren't science. They're barely even "the" science. Yet Laramie High School in Wyoming was shut down because Grace Smith, a junior, didn't mask up.

According to KPVI-TV, this was Grace's third offense. She was suspended twice before over not complying with the mask mandate. Smith says she's taking a stance because she's "growing up in a country where I'm supposed to have my God-given rights to protect, and they're being taken away. Everybody has the freedom to wear a mask if they choose, but I believe everybody also has the right to not wear a mask if they choose." Smith also says she's been cursed out by students and harassed by teachers. Including one teacher, Grace claims, who tried to force a mask on her face.

Smith showed up for school this week and was given a citation for trespassing. When she refused to leave, two police officers I would hope were embarrassed with themselves put Grace in handcuffs. She was taken down to the police station. This is also where the school went into lockdown. To quote the official statement put out by the school district:

The lockdown was issued in order to prevent further interruptions to academic learning.

The straight-A student who is in advanced placement classes is risking expulsion. But Grace Smith is willing to stand for what she believes in. Instead of bullying her for it, her peers should be standing with her. It's disgusting that this is what schools are turning into in America. It's also why homeschooling is on the rise.
