NY Gov. Kathy Hochul brags about the new way she has made the NYC subways safer (Spoiler: She has not)
Last month, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul bragged that the subways were safer than ever, proudly acknowledging that crime is down. However, in just the very few days since, a woman was burned alive. That is on top of the fact that violent crime on public transportation is up over 60 percent since 2019.
The NYC subway in NYC.
A train stopped due to MTA workers finding a body on the train.
It appears the body was there for a while and decomposing.

Claiming that crime is down on the subway system is nothing more than a delusional lie, and no amount of gaslighting could make it believable. However, to create the illusion that she gives a crap, she decided that installing cameras was the best course of action.
Kathy Hochul posted this video *yesterday* boasting about how she made the subway safer.
*Today* a woman was burned alive on the subway, another individual was stabbed to death, while another is in the hospital with injuries.

According to The Post Millennial
New York Governor Kathy Hochul is praising the installation of security cameras in “every single subway car” across New York City, calling it a critical step in reducing violence and helping law enforcement “solve crimes even faster.”
"The recent surge in violent crimes in our public transit system cannot continue — and we need to tackle this crisis head-on," Hochul said. "I directed the MTA to install security cameras in every single subway car, and now that the project is complete, these cameras are helping police solve crimes even faster."
What makes this so pathetic is that it’s not a “recent surge in violence,” as violent crime has been up exponentially. So not only does she continue to lie, as she pretends this is the newest realization of 2025, but she pretends this will do much of anything to help the problem.

The initiative coincides with Hochul’s deployment of an additional 250 National Guard members to patrol the subway system in December, bringing the total number to 1,000. Hochul has called public safety her “top priority,” at a time when a number of violent acts on city subways have gained national attention, according to Fox News.
LOL. You don’t deploy the National Guard because the subways are safer than ever.
Hochul pointed to untreated mental illness as a major factor in violent subway incidents, saying it is "the result of a failure to get treatment to people who are living on the streets and are disconnected from our mental health care system." She blamed state laws and "nearly half a century of disinvestment in mental health care and supportive housing,” adding it “directly contributed to the crisis we see on our streets and subways."
That quote is incredibly infuriating, as she prioritizes not hurting the feelings of violent murderers, as she pretends they are nothing more than victims of institutionalized failure. She doesn't even care to bring up the victims, as all of this is everyone's fault but the criminals actually committing these atrocities.
Kathy Hochul’s congestion pricing went into effect. It charges drivers extra fees to drive in parts of Manhattan.
She’s trying to force people to use the subway.

Not only are the subways increasingly unsafe, but she has also decided to charge commuters in parts of Manhattan for just going about their day. Thus, she mocks law-abiding citizens and blames the victims of the mess she helped create.
That said, none of this is complicated. All these people have to do is hold criminals accountable, but Hochul is not concerned about that. She celebrates increasing surveillance as if that will do much of anything.
