Many a sacred cow was slaughtered at the Golden Globes. Mostly by Ricky Gervais (see Ricky Gervais TORCHES Hollywood's Politics at the Golden Globes [VIDEO] and Ricky Gervais Levels the Golden Globes with Jeffrey Epstein Joke [VIDEO]). So much slaughtered sacred cow yet the schmucks were served vegan mash. We know this because the awards made it a point to virtue signal about it. This is how Hollywood was going to combat climate change: noodles. Joaquin Phoenix thinks more can be done. Before you roll your eyes, he thinks HOLLYWOOD can be doing more. It's a classic example of "YOU FIRST" just softer and slightly weird.

I hope together we can be unified and make some changes. It's great to vote, but sometimes we have to take that responsibility on ourselves and make changes and sacrifices in our own lives and I hope that we can do that.

We don’t have to take private jets to Palm Springs for the awards sometimes and back.

Did anyone else notice the music began to play when Phoenix started demanding Hollywood put up or shut up?

This speech is refreshing to hear. It's the kind of speech that needs to be delivered more, as you can tell by the tepid applause Phoenix received. Had the actor just blamed Donald Trump instead of calling on his peers to change their own behavior, it would have gotten a standing ovation. Phoenix also touched on a key reason why so many people don't buy the hype as we're lectured about how our change climate is going to kill us all. Show of hands. How many of you, when you hear a Hollywood leftist lecture you on what you need to change to combat global warming respond, "You first?"

Personally speaking, I try to be a good steward of Mother Earth. I recycle, don't over-consume, my meat comes straight from the farm whenever possible. So when I hear someone who plays dress up and make-believe for a living lecture me about giving up my car, while at the same time they took a private jet to speak at the conference where they are lecturing me about giving up my car, my response isn't to change my behavior. My response is that they can get some of deez sustainable nutz.

Celebrities want to lecture us about how the Earth is near destruction. Yet none of them seem to live their lives like they actually believe the Earth is near destruction. They just want you to believe it and change your ways. I wonder why that is.
