Stats on Guns in Movies Expose Even MORE Hollywood Hypocrisy...
The massacre in Las Vegas renewed the left's push to confiscate every last long gun and pistola in the good ol' U-S-of-A. Celebrities are taking to the Twittersphere to chastise us gun owners for so selfishly owning guns for the protection of our loved ones. But in response, somebody took a notepad to the movie theater. And counted the number of guns and bullets fired in the pictures. His findings? A giant heaping pile of Hollywood hypocrisy:
An analysis of the top five movies in theaters the week before the attack (Sept. 22-28) showed incredible big-screen carnage, including characters firing handguns and employing a wide range of other forms of violence.Because The Lego Movie is animated, it wasn’t included in the tally. So just four movies -- Kingsman: Golden Circle, American Assassin, It and Mother! -- featured 589 incidents of violence, including 212 incidents of gun violence. The total body count of the four was at least 192. At least 108 times, some kind of automatic weapon was used.
To underscore that point, the Kingsman trailer was so filled with violence it is difficult to tally. This 1 minute 56 second clip shows four scenes of characters deploying several different automatic weapons, as well as pistols, a lasso and rockets.
A quick disclaimer. We're not against ultra-violent action films in the slightest. In fact, quite the opposite. A life without mindless shoot-em-up flicks is no life at all. Also, I don't think I need to remind you of our stance on the boomsticks.
Hollywood, on the disarmed other hand, has a YUGE problem with anything firing a projectile. They've begged us to surrender our blasters over many white-backgrounded sad-piano-scored videos. All while they line their pockets with money earned. Thanks to gratuitous film appearances of said blasters. With less sad piano scores, more triumphant, stringed anthems.
Hollywood's hypocrisy doesn't stop with just the guns. They're also non-practicing preachers on things like women's rights and refugees. Studio head honchos are feeling up both actors and actresses. And not a refugee has been housed in Beverly Hills.
Starting to think the left has a grudge against consistency.
