Small difference. So let's segue to this couple, who opted to defend themselves when a peanut-brained would-be-robber came a scratching at the door. Yeah, it didn't end so well for him...

A burglar attempting to enter a Cape Coral home via its lanai found himself face-to-face with an armed resident and fled the home only to be captured by police.

"I yelled to my wife, 'Go get the gun!'" Gibbons told NBC2, describing the moment he saw Cintra on the lanai.

"I was opening the blinds. As I opened the blinds, he's standing... like about this far away from me." That's when Gibbons' wife leveled the gun at Cintra, who was attempting to break in.

"She said if he had been fiddling with the door, trying to open it, she would have shot him." Neighbors are glad to know the Gibbons took swift action.

Notice how stories like this are oft overlooked by the leftist league of gun hating assbags? Instead, they regularly chant myths and incorrect numbers meant to paint guns as scary death sticks (see LOL: Guarding Tries to Use Gun Stats to Argue For Gun Control. Yeah, It Backfires).

In case you haven't noticed, there's no shortage of instances where a gun has come in handy as a means of self-defense. Seems like a bit of a pattern, no? Bad guys get shot by good guys with guns. Simple stuff.

Staring down a criminal while packing heat tends to be extra effective. Clearly. Gun control, on the other hand? Not so much...
