'Good guy with a gun' beats the rap, will not be charged for shooting a thug attempting to rob a taco restaurant
A Houston man will not be facing charges for a 2023 incident where he saved a taqueria from a thug attempting to rob it. If you'll excuse the pun, the man dodged a bullet because Soros-funded Harris County DA Kim Ogg loves herself some criminals. But a grand jury decided not to file charges.
One knucklehead learned a valuable lesson the hard way.
You should never hold up a restaurant and steal from the customers. If you're going to hold up a restaurant, you should never use a fake gun. If you're going to hold up a restaurant with a fake gun, only a total nincompoop would do so in Texas. For one knucklehead in January 2023, he learned this lesson the hard way.
Worse, he held up a taqueria. People trying to enjoy their tacos and queso and chimichangas. And this dinkus walks in with a fake gun and is all like "this is a hold up" because nothing is sacred.
This next part you might find surprising... a Texas man in the restaurant had a gun on him too. Only his was real.
KHOU-11 reports the man with the real gun did not know the man with a fake gun...had a fake gun. This is why it is inadvisable that, if you make the regretful decision to commit armed robbery, you need to focus on the armed part more than the robbery part.
The gun-toting hero took the stolen money off of the robber's soon-to-be corpse, handed it back to the patrons, and everyone just got up and left. Everyone, except for the employees who now needed to Google how to get blood out of grout.
The case was sent to a grand jury. Also, five days after the incident, the restaurant was robbed again.
“No billed”
On Wednesday, the twelve-person grand jury “no billed” the shooter and declined to file charges against him. As Style Magazin explains:
If nine or more grand jurors agree that probable cause exists, they issue a “true bill,” or indictment, and the case continues on through the criminal justice system. If nine or more grand jurors determine probable cause does not exist, they may issue a “no bill,” effectively clearing the individual of criminal wrongdoing. The final decision as to whether to indict rests with grand jurors, not with prosecutors.
Since the man was never arrested to charged with anything, his name is being whitheld. Leaving him free to live his life and enjoy tacos in peace.
Justice exists after all!
