Acting ICE Director Thomas Homan is becoming an unsung hero on the right. Much deserved (see BOOM: Acting ICE Director Wants Illegals Gone. Now! and ICE Director: Illegal Immigrants ‘Should Not be Comfortable’ Here). But this recent move, where sanctuary city mayors could be charged with violating federal anti-smuggling laws? It leaves me with warm, fuzzy feelings in all the good ways:

The country’s top immigration enforcement officer says he is looking into charging sanctuary city leaders with violating federal anti-smuggling laws because he is fed up with local officials putting their communities and his officers at risk by releasing illegal immigrants from jail.

I'm seriously having a kind of crush on Thomas Homan. Not a romantic crush. A pseudo-political, hoo-rah, OMG he's awesome kind of crush. It's a thing, trust me.

Thomas Homan, the acting director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also told Americans to expect more work site enforcement targeting unscrupulous employers and more 287(g) agreements with willing police and sheriff’s departments that want to help get illegal immigrants off their streets. Eventually, he said, ICE will break the deportation records of 409,849 migrants set in 2012 under President Obama.

He's just thinking about it now, but dang! Let's hope he pulls the triggers on the irresponsible, virtue signaling mayors of liberal bastions like San Francisco and it's gaytastic cousin to the north, Seattle.

Mayors who put feel good points above the actual safety of their citizenry deserve to be tossed in the clink. Or at the very least have their pants fined off. Maybe paraded through the worst streets in their city, so they can experience the ramifications of their policies.

Here's hoping Newest Immigration Hero Thomas Homan follows through with his promises. That's not always a thing in D.C.
