Seddique Mateen. Sound familiar? It should. He's the father of the Orlando Shooter. Right, that guy who blew away 49 people with a not-Ar-15, which is what everyone at the time focused on. The gun. Never the ideology. But ideology plays a role then as it plays a role here. So the terrorist's papa-bear recently caught up with the press after attending a Hillary Clinton rally. Who he enthusiastically supports over Donald Trump.

This is the most 2016 story of the year...

WPTV happened to notice the man, who has a mustache and was wearing a red hat, behind Clinton. It was Seddique Mateen, the father of Orlando mass shooter Omar Mateen.

NewsChannel 5 asked Mateen what he was thinking about when Clinton spoke about the Orlando incident.

"We've been cooperating with the federal government, and that's about it," he said. "Thank you." Mateen didn't want to answer any other questions, but just hours later, we ran into him by chance at a rest stop on the way back to West Palm Beach. He wanted to do an interview and show us a sign he made for Clinton.

"Hillary Clinton is good for United States versus Donald Trump, who has no solutions," he said.

That's right. The father of the guy responsible for the second largest terror attack on US soil, which targeted the LGBTQ community, and who's daughter-in-law is still missing, thinks Hillary would be the better President.

If I was Donald Trump, I'd send him a fruit basket for that.

Did you note the bullet points on his sign? So much LOL I'm having to call the doctor later for cracked ribs. "Good for national security," is one of the points, as is "gun control laws." Aside from the fact this sign is printed on urine yellow and uses chunky fonts, you have to give it to this guy. He boarded the sinking ship Ironic, and now he wants everyone else to come aboard. Thanks, we'll pass.

How much do you want to bet the media, who seems to be doing everything it can to prop up Secretary Pantsuit as our next dear leader, is going to attempt to bury this story with the 49 victims from the Orlando night club? Because even in the crazy year of 2016, an endorsement from the father of a notorious terrorist isn't exactly "prized." Oh sure, we're getting a kick out of it. But methinks Hillary might short-circuit if she sees this story making the rounds. Not because she's against Mateen, just the publicity of it.
