Sadly, this is the direction leftists want to take things. Because in the "Looney Tunes" reboot, they are taking Elmer Fudd's gun away from him, as if rebooting "Looney Tunes" in the first place isn't a bad enough idea.

The new series "Looney Tunes Cartoons" will feature the cartoon's characteristic violence – using sticks of dynamite, booby traps and the iconic anvils and bank safes dropped onto characters.

However, Peter Browngardt, the series executive producer and showrunner, said, "We're not doing guns. But we can do cartoony violence — TNT, the Acme stuff. All that was kind of grandfathered in."

Elmer Fudd is regularly foiled trying to hunt Bugs Bunny on the show. In the new series, the character will carry a scythe.

A scythe. Like as in the Grim Reaper.

So let me get this straight. You can blow someone up with dynamite. Crush their skull with a heavy object. Slice them up with a blade on the end of a stick. But a bumbling hunter using a shotgun barely more effective than a straw is a no-no. It'a not like you had to give the character an AR-15 (see A PREGNANT MOTHER JUST SAVED HER FAMILY WITH AN AR-15 and DAVID HOGG TRIES USING JESUS CHRIST TO ARGUE AGAINST AR-15s). I mean, it would be cool if they did. But guns and dynamite kill just the same.

I'm more afraid to see what other ways they are going to "modernize" the cartoon. Pepe Le Pew will probably be canceled after a #MeToo violation. Speedy Gonzalez will have his name changed to Cleetus O'Hara and will be a Trump supporter. And if you don't think Bugs Bunny is attractive when he puts on a dress and plays a girl bunny? Congratulations. You're now a transphobe.
