Indeed, one of the largest job sites in the world has announced it will be wasting a lot of money by paying up to $10,000 for employees to relocate. But there is a catch: You must either be transgender or looking to trans your child.
Indeed said its intent is to support employees who live in areas where gender-affirming care is restricted by state laws or regulations.
It also applies to workers seeking to move their kids out of areas that protect children from undergoing irreversible harm. In other words, move them to a state where they can chemically castrate themselves.
"Our transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming colleagues are integral to our business and culture at Indeed,” Misty Gaither, vice president of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging at Indeed, told Axios. "We know employees thrive and do their best work when they can bring their authentic selves to work.”
Eligible employees will receive approval to relocate to a state or jurisdiction where they will be able to access the “care and support they need,” as well as a $10,000 flat-rate.
"We also believe that everyone has the right to make the healthcare decisions that they feel are right for themselves and their families," Gaither said.
It seem very odd to me that a company wants to incentivize people to medically transition. But if they want to waste their money that is their problem.
Sam Burger, a 30-year-old senior content creator at the company who uses the pronouns they and them, used the payment to move from Austin. Texas, to Denver, Colorado.
"As soon as I found out that I was getting the money, it was very much like a weight lifted," Burger said.
What Burger is saying is probably true. It takes a lot of balls to undergo transgender treatment.
The policy went into effect in July 2023. Intuit, maker of TurboTax and QuickBooks, also offers its own relocation benefit.Latest
