Democrat bill demands insurance companies report how many firearms you have in your home, or else
Hitler once said, “To conquer a nation, first disarm its citizens.”
Can you think of anywhere in the United States where gun control has worked? Can you think of anywhere in the country where infringing on the Second Amendment has contributed to less crime? Can you think of anywhere in the nation where disarming law-abiding citizens have helped anyone?
That’s because gun control seems to always be concerned with taking guns away from people who are not only unlikely to commit a crime, but it does nothing to stop criminals from obtaining firearms.
So of course, progressives in California have found another way to intimidate law-abiding gun owners by proposing a new bill that would require insurance companies to ask how many guns people own and to report that information to state officials.
According to The Post Millennial:
On Friday, California Assemblymember Mike Gipson (D) introduced a bill that would require homeowner insurance companies to ask insurance applicants how many firearms they own and report it to the government.
The Residential property insurance firearms bill AB-3067 is an addition to Section 2086 of the Insurance Code, and would require insurers to "update the contents of their applications for homeowners’ or renters’ insurance to include the questions regarding the presence, storage, and number of firearms by January 1, 2026."
It would then require an insurer to "annually report the information gathered from the questions regarding the presence, storage, and number of firearms to the Department of Insurance and the Legislature beginning on January 1, 2027."
AB-3067's introduction into the legislature comes just months after the state saw its ban on carrying concealed weapons in many public places blocked by US District Judge Cormac Carney. The law would have prohibited people from carrying a concealed firearm in places such as public parks, playgrounds, and religious institutions, regardless if they have a concealed weapon carry permit or not.
What part of “shall not be infringed” do they not understand?
It is unclear as to what reason the government is demanding such information. But this is likely just a way of implementing a de facto gun registry.
Gun registration is just a major step toward the goal of civilian disarmament. And history has shown us too many times to count that when the government disarms its citizens, tyranny soon follows.
Here is just a reminder of what happens when governments disarm the people: 1.5 million Armenians were slaughtered, 20 million Chinese killed, 1 million killed in Cambodia, 20 million Russians were murdered, and 6 million Jews were killed. These are some of the many examples of what happens once a nation can no longer protect itself from tyrants.
I am not making the case that reporting your guns to insurance companies will result in another genocide. But I am saying that any step to disarm a nation is a step towards tyranny.
You don’t take away everyone’s driver's license because someone else drove drunk. The same goes for the Second Amendment. You have to be painfully stupid to blame inmate objects for the crimes of criminals.
That said, I heard that the majority of gun owners in California lost their firearms in boating accidents anyway. Can’t confirm that though. It’s just something I heard.
