You know how ISIS was called the "JV Squad" by President Obama, and how he and his Administration have seemed clueless about how to deal with them since 2012? Apparently they weren't clueless as much as they were concerned about admitting there was a problem...because it might get in the way of Obama's reelection. Reminder, all presidents are sworn into office. Part of the swearing in ceremony is to protect the United States. There's no asterisk with a footnote which says "Unless, of course, you're trying to get reelected, then it's totes okay to fudge some threat intel just a bit."

But according to a former White House Intel Chief, Obama created his own footnote.

"I think that they did not meet a narrative the White House needed. And I'll be very candid with you, they just didn't," retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, the former head of the Defense Intelligence Agency, told CNN's Jake Tapper on "The Lead."

"There are not criminals. They are hardcore radical Islamists."

Flynn, who has been critical of both Obama's and former President George W. Bush's handling of the Iraq War and involvement in the Middle East, said that Obama was served poorly by a small circle of advisers who were worried about his re-election prospects at the time.

For those of you keeping score at home, we're still a little more than a year away before grown-ups take back control of the White House. Maybe you're counting down ala an advent calendar. Oh, sorry, trigger-warning: religious references to Christmas.

In the mean time, we have a leader named Obama who either refuses to acknowledge radical Islam is a threat (for he certainly refuses to utter the words "Islam" with "terrorism"), or he just doesn't care that radical Islam is a threat (read Obama Right Before the Paris Attack: 'ISIS is Contained'). Either way, both bad scenarios, yes? Also, are any of use surprised that Obama stays hard and fast to his narrative of "Osama is dead, GM is alive" not only for reelection, but probably also for nightly affirmations in the mirror? You are a strong, beautiful sexy woman.

Until an adult who is ready to admit and declare what threats face the United States takes office, keep chipping away the dates on your election advent calendar. Trigger-warning: Islamic joke ahead. Until next January when a new president is sworn in (in which he or she will swear to protect the USA), hopefully nothing gets blown up after a not-Methodist, not-Catholic, not-Presbriterian, not-Buddhist, not-Mormon person doesn't scream Allahu Akbar.
