"Have you absolutely nothing to say?": Mayor Karen Bass goes silent when grilled over her policies causing LA to burn down
When Karen Bass was elected Mayor of Los Angeles in 2022, voter turnout was around 46%. As a side note, here is her opponent, Rick Caruso, in 2022. Caruso was a former Republican who switched parties because, well... it's Los Angeles.
Los Angeles needs to fully fund our fire department and restore the lost resources from 2009. As mayor, I will protect those that put their lives on the line to safeguard our communities. #CarusoCan pic.twitter.com/bXeQFpYlao

Instead, Los Angelinos (or a majority of 46% of them) voted for Karen Bass, a Democrat Congresswoman who was on Joe Biden's shortlist for vice president. Bass rushed home from a trip to Ghana (which she took knowing LA was experiencing record-breaking winds) to deal with the wildfire crisis. Here, she is addressing reporters.
Ted Cruz fleeing Texas in the middle of a deadly crisis is part of a larger pattern of the GOP abandoning folks in crisis.
We need to build a movement to kick them all out.

Whoops, wrong tweet. That's Bass blasting Ted Cruz, who is not a state official, "abandoning folks" when it snowed in Texas that one time.
Here is Bass deftly handling questions such as "Do you owe citizens an apology for being absent while their homes were burning?," "Do you regret cutting the Fire Department budget by millions of dollars?," and "Have you absolutely nothing to say to the citizens today?"
🚨 911, I'D LIKE TO REPORT A M*RDER: This reporter just sat here and showered the mayor of Los Angeles with scathing questions for being MIA during the fires.

When the reporter says "millions," it is more like tens of millions. Bass cut $17 million from the fire department budget to handle LA's homeless crisis that was caused by the progressive policies Bass advocates for. Also, a homeless crisis where an encampment may or may not have been responsible for starting the first fire that is causing LA to burn to the ground.
Bass isn't the only incompetent official in the state. Insurance companies have been forced out of the state due to overregulation. Decades of failed Democrat water and forest management policies have led to the fire hydrants NOT HAVE ANY F*CKING WATER IN THEM. And, for some reason I've yet to get a good answer to, California is not allowed to collect rainwater.
Like, you know how when it rains water naturally falls from the sky? It is illegal to put out a bucket to collect that water. Something about global changing climate warming.
California has the best land and worst government in America.
Gavin Newsom’s failed water and forest management policies helped turn what could be manageable fires into devastating infernos.
And Trump called it months ago on his interview with Joe Rogan.
Here’s are details. pic.twitter.com/yXLt2J7fYS

What an embarrassing dereliction of duty. He has the authority to at least push for reliable information and give people answers. Is he not interested in why this is a problem? Would he like to help correct it? This is the exact opposite of leadership. https://t.co/nzz0M7R4YT

The scenes coming out of Los Angeles are heartbreaking and terrifying. There are people who live there who I love. They, along with everyone else in the state, deserve better leadership. Maybe this latest example of failed, incompetent progressive policies will be the catalyst for it.
