New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says free speech is a weapon of war, and she wants the world leaders at the UN to do a better job of controlling it.

This part is key.

"[Leaders are] rightly concerned that even the most light touch approaches to disinformation could be misinterpreted as being hostile to the values of free speech that we value so highly."

She said that BEFORE referring to free speech as a weapon of war. And who is using that weapon for war? Who she calls "extremists" spreading "disinformation." The second part of her speech validates the concerns about the first part of her speech.

This is the same woman who, at the beginning of the pandemic, said that if it didn't come from the government it wasn't the truth. She was talking specifically about the "disinformation" being spread about pandemic. How much of what "they" said was misinformation has turned out to be true since then?

I won't touch climate, just because... Facebook. Though I advise everyone to read the fine print when they use an EV tax credit. But when Ardern talks about upholding the "human rights of others" when they are "subjected to hateful and dangerous rhetoric," what exactly? That people shouldn't be allowed to enter a country illegally? That maybe fifteen weeks is enough time to decide on an abortion? That schools shouldn't have more rights over children than the kids' parents?

Those are all views and opinions people on the left disagree with and are ALL what people on the left deem "extreme," "dangerous," and/or "misinformation." Look no further than Joe Biden.

Leaders like Jacinda Ardern are why citizens are concerned about protecting our right to free speech. So are a lot of the leaders in the room she was talking to.
