Watch: Dr. Phil cuts off anti-woke scholar as he destroys panel on promoting Marxism in schools
Often when we get to address academics opening their face holes about Critical Race Theory (CRT), it’s usually to intellectually skull drag them. It’s pretty easy to do. People like Ibram Kendi and Robin DeAngelo have room temperature IQs, and proving them to be fools is easier than confusing Biden before his afternoon nap. This time, however, we get to see how a pro does it.
James Lindsay “is a mathematician with a background in physics,” so says the dust jacket of his book Cynical Theories: How Activist Scholarship Made Everything about Race, Gender and Identity—and Why This Harms Everybody, a book I own, have read, and recommend to anyone who wants a better idea as to how broken the education system is in America. But I digress.
You may have heard of James Lindsay before. He was a member of the trio of academics who demonstrated just how ridiculous the peer review process has become in the humanities and grievance studies disciplines. Over the course of a year or so, Lindsay and two other academics, Helen Pluckrose and Peter Boghossian, submitted several ridiculous hoax papers to academic journals to see if they’d pass the process and be published. Several of them were. The topics were hilarious! Check out this article from The Atlantic if you want to know more about the papers.
Needless to say, Lindsay harbors a certain level of disdain for things like CRT and rightfully so. What’s more, he’s far more intelligent than any CRT advocate could ever hope to be, so he wipes the floor with people. And during a recent appearance on the Dr. Phil Show, he didn’t disappoint at all!
BREAKING: Dr Phil cuts off @ConceptualJames as he destroys panel on Critical Race Theorypic.twitter.com/Vdk4TWYji3— Jack Posobiec (@Jack Posobiec) 1641508458
“I am shocked and appalled to hear the defensive side for critical race theory misrepresented […] They don't explain, for example, why the first paper, called 'Toward a Critical Race Theory in Education' by Gloria Ladson-Billings, was published in 1995. They don't explain why Richard Delgado's 2001 book explains on page five, for example, that it rapidly spread from law to other disciplines, especially education. They don't explain, also, in the exact same situation, that Gloria Ladson-Billings is one of the chief authors of an Ed. Equity in Virginia that is bringing critical race theory into all the state schools of Virginia right now.”
Oh, Lindsay came out guns-a-blazin’! As the CRT advocates on the stage sit aghast, mouths gaping open, eyes wide, he masterfully lists off papers, books, and facts that obliterate them. There’s no good response. Dr. Phil makes a joke about him talking fast, but that’s it.
At the end, one parent in the audience thinks she’s going to stop him in his tracks.
“That's [CRT] not being taught in K-12 schools, it just isn't.”
Good job, dipstick. You really got ‘em there!
Dr. Phil’s producers must have seen Lindsay smell the blood in the water and prepare to tear the ignorant clod a new one, so they went to a commercial.
No, you imbecilic neanderthal, CRT may not be—and in most cases—is not explicitly taught in K-12 schools. Of course, it isn’t! But, as the Post Millennial so succinctly points out, “it is being taught to the people who teach children, and those teachers use her ideas, and other ideas based in critical theory, to create the curriculum that they teach in K-12 schools.”
I’m not saying that understanding how this works requires genius-level intelligence, but it obviously requires a higher IQ than most leftists have at their disposal.
People like James Lindsay are leading the charge against woketardedness in education, and I look forward to seeing more instances in which he dices leftists to pieces (oh, that’s a reference to Lindsay’s fascination with swords… Did I mention he likes swords?)
