Jane Fonda Wants Hollywood to Save Us from Donald Trump
I could have easily titled this "Jane Fonda Gives Yuge In-Kind Contribution to Trump 2020." Is there anything more out of touch than a Hollywood elitist telling other Hollywood elitists they need to take their country back? Actually, sound off in the comments. I want to hear what you think is more out of touch. I'm a bit at a loss.
Hanoi Jane (Google it, youngbloods) was given the Female EMA (Environmental Media Association) Lifetime Achievement Award. Where she said this:
Adding to what seemed to be the theme for the night, Fonda used her brief time onstage to make a statement about the country's political leadership. "This is an existential crisis that we're in," explained the actress/activist, encouraging the audience to get out and vote. "We have to do everything we can to take back the house in November. If anything can save us, it's gonna be taking back our government."Speaking to THR, Lily Tomlin (who introduced Fonda) added: "[Trump] is dangerous — he's unfortunately dangerous to the planet, if nothing else. If we could raise Trump's consciousness, that would be helpful."
Have at it. Talk about taking the country back. While giving each other reach arounds over your own awesomeness at awards shows. Where the gift bags are usually cost more than most families make in a year. Revel in your own celebrity flatulence. Bottle it as a fragrance. Call it "Eu de Weinstein."
The rest of America will revel in more jobs than in recent history and a strong economy. And I say this as someone who's not even a Trump guy. I still think character matters, and if the election was today... I'd probably write in Hopper Crowder.
But I get the desire to stick it to leftist douchecanoes like Jane Fonda who think she's better just because she's an actress. No, sweetie. No.
