Abortion and your friends: JD Vance's two most POWERFUL answers from his town hall with Chris Cuomo

We are ten days away, and the candidates are squeezing out the media for every last appearance they can. Trump is recording with Joe Rogan today. Kamala has an appearance with Club Shay Shay. Tampon Tim Walz is probably yelling at a Wendy's drive-thru. JD Vance took part in a town hall on News Nation, which was yet another showcase of why he was the best decision Donald Trump had ever made. As everyone gets ready for their closing arguments, Vance said two powerful things that need amplification.
It was hosted by Chris Cuomo, a man who has been fascinating this cycle. My understanding from people who know people is that this is the real Cuomo, and the guy from CNN was playing a character for a paycheck. The jury is still out on my end, but he's fun to watch.
I am thoroughly enjoying this new Cuomo Era. https://t.co/1MLphiFrWZ

Vance spoke about abortion, which is the one issue from a polling standpoint that Democrats have an advantage over. Part of that has to do with decades of the Left and the media (but I repeat myself) lying about the Right's position. Part of that also has to do with the Right su-diddly-ucking when it comes to messaging and how we talk about the issue. Case in point: conservatives lost a statewide ballot initiative in KANSAS.
We focus too much on the stereotypical leftist. What Vance says here is crucial. It needs to be the message and what we're going to do about it moving forward: "This is not people who are, like, enthusiastic about having abortions. Sometimes, they feel like that is the only option available to them."
.@JDVance says Republicans are missing something in how they talk about abortion: "This is not people who are, like, enthusiastic about having abortions. Sometimes, they feel like that is the only option available to them."

The other answer concerns animosity toward your friends and family who think differently than you. It's a concept I never understood. I have friends and family who are voting for not-Trump (no one "likes" Kamala) just because they are Democrats and don't like Trump. They know I'm voting for Trump. None of us hate each other, and we spend the time laughing and talking about family more than arguing over who has the better talking points.
Obama remarked this week that he didn't know when Americans became so divisive with each other. If I were to pinpoint a flashpoint, it would be during his presidency when he sent college kids home with talking points to start fights at a Thanksgiving dinner.
Vance says stop that: "Whether you vote for for Donald Trump or for Kamala Harris, don't cast aside family members and lifelong friends--it's not worth it."
.@JDVance tells voters not to “cast aside” friends and family over differing political views. Hear more from Vance during NewsNation’s town hall tonight at 8p/7C on NewsNation and streaming on X.

The campaigns are in closing argument mode. Harris-Walz is in a panic; hence them going back to the Democrat talking point that the party has stuck with since the 1940s: my opponent is a Hitlery fascist. Trump-Vance has the opportunity to make their closing argument one of unity (with some anti-Kamala zingers, of course). I like what Vance is previewing.
And if I allowed myself to get excited ten days before an election day, I might be inclined to do so. But, let's say it all together now, "no tempting the wrath of the whatever from high atop the thing."
