It's been a few days since we had an excuse to swoon over Vice President JD Vance. Here, he reminds UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer why America broke up with England and why we're never, ever, ever getting back together. Earlier this month, Vance told an audience of Europeans how much they su-diddly-uck when it comes to protecting citizens' free speech. A reporter asked if JD wanted to repeat any of it to Starmer's face.

Free speech infringements have affected not only the British… but also American technology companies and, by extension, American citizens. So, we'll discuss that today at lunch.

What's most notable about this Oval Office appearance is what's noticeable over most of what JD Vance has been doing. Vice Presidents aren't this visible during the term, let alone at the very beginning of it. Look at the past three.

Donald Trump is in his last term and is turning seventy-nine years old this summer. I can't imagine the conversation hasn't been had with JD Vance that he's got next. And that for the next two years, everything they have Vance do is designed to prepare him as the heir apparent. Not just prepare him for it but also prepare him in the eyes of the American people.

Vance has the intelligence, charisma, youth, and an adorable family. All that's left is to build him a portfolio and a presence as a world leader. Our dude is off to an amazing start so far.
