Jen Psaki is really following through on her promise to ask the hard-hitting questions of all her friends in the Biden administration. Such as whether John Kerry would like a little sweet treat.

Sigh.

During a segment of "Inside with Jen Psaki," Psaki interviewed Kerry on the National Mall.

"Now I remember well that you have a bit of a sweet tooth. Do you want to go get some ice cream over there?" Kerry replied, "That would be - hitting the nail on the head."

The pair proceeded to an ice cream stand and both got Dove bars, which Psaki called the "State Department special". As they munched their ice cream, Psaki said, "So I know you like Forrest Gump. A little bit. Does this remind you - you've lived a life a little bit like Forrest Gump." Kerry then claimed he's had some "Forrest Gump moments". Whatever that means.

Kerry also recalled his mother's influence on his passion for environmental activism and praised the younger generations for their involvement in the fight against climate change. Like vandalizing oil paintings and gluing themselves to the floor. Such bravery.

Psaki actually served as Kerry's spokesperson at the State Department during the Obama administration, which explains her softball questions. Steve Guest, Ted Cruz's special adviser for communications, quote tweeted the clip with a 2014 photo of Psaki and Kerry where Psaki donned a Russian communist hammer-and-sickle hat.

"'Journalism' featuring Jen Psaki and John Kerry," Guest wrote.

And just a few weeks ago, Psaki said she considers herself a journalist: “I do ... To me, journalism is providing information to the public, helping make things clear, explaining things, having conversations with people that people want to learn more about.”

So far as a journalist, Psaki has explained to the public that the Biden administration officials really enjoy ice cream. And something about Forrest Gump. Truly groundbreaking stuff.
