Late-night "comedy" has been a safe space for Joe Biden. Though, much like when Biden's told to hold it during cabinet meetings, cracks are starting to show. Jimmy Fallon did something on Monday's edition of "The Tonight Show" that has become a rarity on late night: He told jokes. Not only jokes but jokes that make Ol' Puddinghead look bad.

The setup is Anthony "the Science" Fauci announcing his retirement.

“Meanwhile, I read that Dr. Fauci said that he plans to retire by the end of President Biden’s term. And then everyone turned to Biden. Like, ‘Is there anything you’d like to announce, too?'”

Get it? It's because Joe Biden is old AF and all the polls show that Democrats don't want him to run again. Even if Joe Biden doesn't understand how to read polls.

Fallon also had funny bars about Biden's unfortunate fist bump with Mohammad Bin Salman, "Not a great look. It’s like greeting Putin with a chest bump and a bro hug.” I can see Biden doing that. And breaking his hip.

It's not a titanic sea change in how late-night entertainment runs cover for Joe Biden. Fallon's colleagues are still firmly in the pockets of Big Biden and Big DNC.

But we're still a few months out from the big red supernova hitting in November. If both the zeitgeist AND the cheap laughs are on everyone hating Joe Biden and no one wanting him to run for re-election, he's toast. That isn't to say he won't still run for reelection to be spiteful. But his presidency is effectively over.
