Jimmy Kimmel Blasts the Bill Cassidy Health Care Bill
We're giving repealing ObamaCare another go at it, with the Sen. Bill Cassidy health care bill. Jimmy Kimmel's publicist must have gotten the talking points from the Democrats, because he addressed it in his monologue. Lots of politicking. Very little jokes.
Late night show hosts are a lot less funny than I remember.
So, here's my question: has anyone actual read the bill? Serious question. I did a quick Google search, and the text isn't available that I could find. It sounds like there's a bill being discussed, and everyone just went straight to their talking points about it's bad for children, women, poor people, dogs, Scientologists. Pretty much anyone else whose votes Democrats rely upon.
Then there are entities like Vox, who have already deemed it the worst of all the repeal bills. So maybe they've read it? But let's be honest. Donald Trump could put a "Repeal and Replace" cover page on the next iteration of ObamaCare, and Vox would say it was the most extreme thing they read.
Personally speaking? ANYTHING is better than what we have now (see New Report: Obamacare Premiums Will Go Up AGAIN. 15 Percent Hike and New York’s LARGEST Healthcare Provider Pulls Out of Obamacare After Major Losses). But leftists like Jimmy Kimmel have an ideology to preserve.
Did Cassidy lie? Well... he's a politician. You know, kind like how you can keep your doctor if you like your doctor and all that. No one wants to talk about Obama's lies, though. That's problematic.
But it IS interesting that Kimmel doesn’t care about the tens of millions of Americans who were kicked OFF their plans due to ACA, who saw their premiums skyrocket and deductibles quadruple, or the biggest insurers in the country flat out leave their market due to costs.
They don’t matter.
