Watch: Trans reality star calls cops on JK Rowling for "misgendering," the author's response is absolute perfection
India Willoughby, who boasts being the world’s 1st trans newsreader ("newsreader" is what they call journalismers in the UK) has JK Rowling right where s/he wants her... under arrest! Or, maybe under arrest. Willoughby has reported Rowling to the police for misgendering and has told a media outlet that the author is totes going to jail now. Finally, after all these years, someone has put an end to all Rowling's anti-transing.
Not really, but we can let India pretend. Rowling has something to say about it too.
Here's India, who needs to calm down.
JK Rowling definitely committed a crime. I'm legally a woman....
"Legally."
She knows I'm a woman, and she calls me a man. It's a protected characteristic. And that is a breach of both the Equalities Act and the Gender Recognition Act. ... I've been to the police and I've reported it has an issue. I have reported JK Rowling to the police for what she's said. It's a cut-and-dried offense, as far as I'm concerned.
EXCLUSIVE 🚨🚨🚨@IndiaWilloughby has called the police and reported @jk_rowling for an alleged hate crime for misgendering her.
This could lead to Rowling’s arrest. pic.twitter.com/iJMDmDeMaO

It may not be that cut-and-dried. According to independent fact-checkers, while discrimination against someone with a protected characteristic may be a crime, it is not a crime to refer to a trans-identified person by their sex, and such speech is recognized as an expression of belief and protected under 2010's Equality Act.
Here's the rub. As Rowling points out, India has a history of what people who believe that "hate speech" is a thing would consider to be hate speech, with "offensive" comments concerning immigration, an assortment of -phobias and -isms, and even his/her own transphobia.
I ignored this advice because I couldn't be bothered giving India the publicity he so clearly craves. Nevertheless, we must all do our bit to combat hate, so India will be glad to know I've taken note of his homophobia, racism, and humane stance on immigration. 2/5 pic.twitter.com/ULoYrRGfez

Nor have I forgotten India's shocking transphobia. It appears to have slipped what passes for India's mind that he's previously called a fellow trans woman a man on this very site. 3/5 pic.twitter.com/Prk1ikBwLq

Also committing rampant acts of misgendering? The dude who interviewed India.
Extraordinary. India’s interviewer calls India ‘him’ twice. The police are going to be very busy. https://t.co/ClS8luh29B

The whole thing is bollocks, though not as bollocks as how Rowling became the H.T.I.C.: Head Transphobe In Charge. There was a time when leftists were identifying as different Hogwarts sects to declare how they were going to "resist" against Donald Trump. Today you might as well call Rowling "Voldermort."
It all started back in 2019. A woman named Maya Foster was fired for having the wrong opinion.
Maya Forstater, 45, lost her job as a tax expert at the Centre for Global Development in March this year after she was accused of publishing “offensive” tweets questioning government proposals to allow people to self-identify as the opposite sex.
However, in the landmark judgment published yesterday, employment Judge Tayler decided Ms Forstater’s view “is incompatible with human dignity and fundamental rights of others”.
If Ms Forstater had won the case, it would have legally prevented employers from dismissing staff for expressing the “offensive” view that there are only two biological sexes.
Rowling sided with Foster and her rights as a woman to hold her own opinions.
Dress however you please.
Call yourself whatever you like.
Sleep with any consenting adult who’ll have you.
Live your best life in peace and security.
But force women out of their jobs for stating that sex is real? #IStandWithMaya #ThisIsNotADrill

And that's it. That one tweet. owling is persona non-grata amongst her former allies over that one tweet. Or, the tweet and the fact activists weren't able to cyberbully Rowling into apologizing and begging for forgiveness.
Rowling has a single opinion the left disagrees with, and they hate her. Rowling who, mind you, is in no way, shape, or form a conservative. But because of one tweet, she is a literal Slytherin.
Or, I guess she's a Slytherin. Anything I know about the Harry Potter books I know from Dwight Shrute.
