Having an understanding of how words work is something for which we should strive. The President of the United States matters. His words can move the stock market. They can cause inflation. And if the president is not careful and does not have a tight enough rein on his wits, his words could start World War III. I forgot where I was going with this. Hey, look! Here's Joe Biden addressing the 82nd Airborne Division in Poland.

"You're going to see, when you're there, and some of you have been there, you're going to see women, young people, standing in the middle, in front of the damn tank, just saying, 'I'm not leaving. I'm holding my ground.' They're incredible."

God, love the Ukrainian people and their bravery. That's no malarky. But I could have sworn Joe Biden, the commander-in-chief, and a man we're told doesn't take dementia cat naps, told the 82nd Airborne they'd be seeing Ukraine soon. That's an odd thing to tell soldiers, especially since Ukraine isn't one of our NATO allies, and sending the 82 Airborne would cause things to go World War III-ish.

I wasn't the only one who was confused.

Thankfully (kinda), the White House press team has been here before. They need to clarify, correct, and/or translate what Joe Biden meant to say on the regular. They got this one fixed in record time. Including another edited transcript.

I don't want to be too petty. He's the commander-in-chief, and he's addressing our brave military. However, if I were being petty, I'd post something like this:

I can't help but wonder, though. Joe Biden is really old and doesn't always appear "with it." Was this another case of Biden's verbal diarrhea? Or did Biden just come from a meeting and forgot the part where they said, "Now, Joe, this is a secret. Don't tell anyone." With this president, it's a coin toss.
