Joe Biden has been showing his jealousy of rich folk again. He is on another of his "they aren't paying their fair share" kicks. Remember, this is the same Joe Biden whose IRS is coming after your side hustles if you make more than $600. But also, billionaires aren't paying their fair share. Or so Biden wants you to believe. Community Notes (with an Elon Musk assist) is here to save the day and has fact-checked another misleading Biden tweet into oblivion.

Let's start with the Biden meme claiming billionaires only pay 3%.

This was news to Elon Musk, who is not only a billionaire but the billionairest of ALL the billionaires. Musk paid 53% (that's a lot more than 3%) on stock options while also paying more in income tax than everyone ever in the history of taxing income.

Elon called down Community Notes for some fact-checking. They took a break from clarifying tweets on gun ownership and butt-plug porn to say Biden is repeating some of them invalid truths again. "This claim has been repeatedly assessed as inaccurate. It relies on a theoretical calculation that treats unrealized capital gains (increase in the value of unsold stocks) as income even though current tax law does not. (Taxes occur once stocks are sold for profit.)"

So what have we learned today?

Community Notes once again comes in clutch. If the White House wants to lie to the American people, they're going to have to rely on MSNBC instead.
